Welcome to Palmdale School District Head Start! We encourage parents to become an active part of their child’s learning experience and to participate in every aspect of our program. We extend an open invitation to all parents to visit their child’sclassroom.

Your family is entering a unique early childhood program, an educational program that offers new learning experiences for you and your child.

Head Start will offer support and information in every area of your child’s development: social, intellectual, physical and emotional. Our staff’s goal is to give your family a “head start” in education. We want this start in education to be fun and beneficial for your entire family.

Starting school can be an exciting experience for children.  It may also be a little scary. Your children will face some big changes in their lives; their first separation from home and family, their first steps to independence, new feelings, new friends, new experiences. When parents take an active role in their child’s education, children usually enjoy learning and school life more, improve their skills and attitude about school and develop confidence about themselves.

What can parents do? Visit your child's classroom. Volunteer and be active on committees. Attend programs.  Meet teachers and staff. Show interest. Show your child you value education.
