Parent Support
Parents Role
Children take to school the lessons they learn at home, so excellence in education is partly in your hands. Since you are your childs first and most influential teacher, his or her ideas about education and its significance begins with you, the parent. Your children learn from you whether or not to value education and whether or not to respect achievement, intelligence and learning. These basic lessons continually influence how students approach their school work.
School Site Council (SSC)
SSC is an advisory board at Palm Tree which consists of teachers, classified employees, the school principal, and parents. The primary purpose of the SSC is to provide input regarding the educational programs and the school plan.
English Learners Advisory Council (ELAC)
Palm Tree School has an ELAC that meets at least once a month. The ELAC is involved with developing the school plan for English Learners, conducting the schools needs assessments and making parents aware of the importance of regular school attendance. The ELAC also informs parents of all school activities and events.
