From the Desk of the Principal:
Greeting Cactus Middle School Families,
It is with great pleasure that I introduce myself, Dr. Tu Price, as the new Principal of Cactus Middle School, a Medical, Health, and Technology Academy. My passion for education and the success of all students has been shaped over my years serving as an on Level and Remedial Math Teacher, High School Physical Education Teacher, High School Football Coach, High School Athletic Director, High School and Middle School Vice/Assistant Principal, and High School Principal. My educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business, Master of Science Degree in Educational Administration, and Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Education. In addition, I am one of twenty-seven Certified Master Athletic Administrators in the State of California. In each role I served as well as my own educational journey, I have sought to ensure the success of each student and school by providing the best educational and extracurricular opportunities possible. Similarly, it is my number one priority at Cactus that every student has the opportunity to receive a well-rounded education.
I hope your summer has been filled with exciting family activities and enjoyed at a leisurely pace. Our summer is coming to a close and now our thoughts eagerly turn to the beginning of another dynamic year. The Cactus faculty and staff are excited to work with you as we provide high quality, rigorous, challenging and relevant instruction for your children. The Cactus Middle School staff members seek to empower students to develop a passion for lifelong learning and nurture them by engaging their intellect, emotions and natural curiosity. We seek to instill not only the objectives and skills specified by Common Core Standards, but develop student competence and motivation that will enrich each life. Our daily work together includes creating a safe and supportive environment in which all learners can pursue academic and social learning experiences and fulfill their unique potentials.
You are a huge part of our success! Research proves that parent involvement increases student achievement and enriches the school community. Please feel free to regularly volunteer on our site. By doing so, you are providing valued attention to students, teachers, and the school community. As we build upon existing relationships and forge new ones, let us collaboratively support the social, emotional and academic well-being of each child at Cactus. Through this teaming effort, we will make tremendous progress for all.
Thank you for taking the time to view our website. If you have additional time and have not done so already, please check out our district website and view our strategic plan called “The Palmdale Promise”. Finally, thank you for entrusting your children with us to prepare them for 21st Century learning.
Make it a great day!
Dr. Tu Price
