FROM THE DESK OF THE ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL
MS. MARGINESE STREETERHello Palmdale Learning Plaza Pumas,
My name is Marginese Streeter. I have been a school administrator in the Palmdale School District since August 2014. I am extremely excited to begin my third year as an Assistant Principal here at Palmdale Learning Plaza.
Since my childhood, my father has always instilled the importance of an education, which is why I have always had a true passion for learning. As a child, I opened up my own school in the garage of my parents home and started teaching my four younger siblings and peers in the neighborhood.
As a result, when I graduated from high school I decided that I wanted to be a teacher. So I started working on my Associates of Arts Degree at Antelope Valley College. Once I achieved my A.A. Degree, I continued with my Bachelors of Arts Degree at Cal State University of Long Beach, where I received a B.A. in Liberal Studies. I then started to teach at Los Angeles Unified School District. I taught grades K-5 for 15 years. During this time, I continued my education and pursued my Masters of Arts Degree in Social Foundations of Education at Cal State University of Los Angeles. I also attended National University and received my Administrative Credential. I have been in the field of education for almost 20 years.
As an educator, it is my number one priority to provide our students with a safe learning environment, where they can learn to their fullest potential, while keeping their feet planted firmly to the ground.
This year is an exciting time for me here at PLP as I get to know all of the wonderful students, parents and staff. It is at this time that I would like to encourage all stakeholders to continue to build relationships to lay the foundation for student success as we prepare our students to become global learners, who are career and college ready.
I am looking forward to having a great 2016-2017 school year at PLP!
Yours in Education,
