• FROM THE DESK OF THE ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL

    CANDACE CRAVEN

I have worked in the Palmdale School District for thirteen years. I have been fortunate to be the Assistant Principal at Summerwind Elementary for the past two years. Prior to that I taught K- 8th grades at various schools in the district. I did spend a short time as a substitute in the high school district, and taught English as a second language at Golden Oak Adult School in the Hart District. I hold a Master's degree in Administration from California State University at Dominguez Hills, a teaching credential from California State University at Bakersfield, a Bachelor of Science in the Arts  from Charter Oak State College in New Hampshire, and an Associate of Arts degree in Theater from Moorpark Community College.

Before going into education I worked as a reporter for a local radio station, marketing coordinator for the Lancaster Performing Arts Center and, while in college, I worked as a clown. I also have a background in sales, marketing and business administration. I believe we are life long learners and I am attempting to learn Spanish. I also attended Space Camp recently because science is both a hobby and a passion of mine. I enjoy learning and hope you will always enjoy it too.
