Second Grade
ALATORRE: Second Grade Our class is working very hard in math. We are learning numbers 1 to 100 and we are also learning about place value. During language arts, our class is going over vowels, and consonant fluency. We are learning about nature, parks and hiking. At the end of October, we will be doing “career day” presentations. This is an enjoyable activity for everyone; the children talk about becoming doctors, nurses, firemen and numerous other professions, while dressed in character. Parent Reminder: Please read with your children, and make sure to ask them questions about what they have just read. Please remember to make sure all homework is complete and corrected. Our class is in need of donations from home. If you are able, we need dry erase markers, playground balls and paper. Thank you, Mrs. Alatorre
![]() KAUFFMAN: Second Grade Our class is taking an adventure ride through nature, camping, rangers, parks and hiking. The students are really having a good time! In mathematics, we are working on the meaning of place value. Our class has two upcoming projects. At the end of October, we will be doing “Career Day” presentations. Let’s see how many professions my class chooses! At the end of November, we will be working on our “Family Quilt” projects. Parent Reminder: Please read with your child every day and ask him/her questions about what they have just read. Our class supplies are very limited this year. NAPOLITANO: Second Grade Our class is excited to be learning about force and motion in science. We are working really hard in math; right now we are applying our knowledge in place value. In language arts, we are learning to write complete sentences, learning about commands and reading about a Park Ranger in An upcoming project in our class is going to be finding out where our ancestors came from and how they got to the Parent reminder: Please do nightly fluency with your child. Make sure he/she reads every night and please sing their reading log. Our class could use donations of Kleenex tissue, balls, dry erase markers are always nice too! Thank you, Mrs. Napolitano
TORRES: Second Grade Our second grade class is learning about nature, camping, rangers, parks and hiking. These adventures are so exciting for the children! In Math, we are working really hard in place values. The last week of October, we will be exploring careers during “Career Day.” The children will be doing presentations, in costume on their career of choice! During the month of November, my students will be working on a “Family Quilt” project. Parents please read with your child; listen to them read then ask them questions about what they have read. ROBERTS: Second Grade SDC Our class is working really hard in language arts. We are learning about proper nouns, verbs, s, ed, ing, and writing complete sentences. In mathematics, addition, subtraction and place value is our focus. “Families long ago,” is our social studies topic, and in science, we are working on “Ready, Set, Science.” Parent Reminder: Please remember to read with your child every night! Our class is always excited to receive donations from home…we need dry erase markers, erasers, Kleenex tissue, pencils and paper! Thank you, Mrs. Roberts
