At Desert Willow, our Diamondbacks are:
Prepared individuals
Respectful citizen
Independent thinkers
Determined scholars and
Effective communicators.
Outside of school, Eddie carries that defensive dominance with him as he competes in matches with the Antelope Valley Futbol Club (AVFC).
His coaches will tell you that he is hard-working and dedicated. They will tell you that he is a great teammate, coachable, has a positive attitude and comes to practice ready to work.
Eddie’s teachers sing similar praises.
Eddie is a diligent student and is always focused on learning and helping his peers however he can. He is an exceptional leader on and off the court/field.
What I found to be most remarkable about Eddie is how his friends described him. He is known for his bright smile and the kindness he shows to everyone. I was emphatically told “that dude is a walking role model.”
I asked Eddie why he was so great. He kind of just smiled, so I pressed on. I asked him if it was because he gets rewarded from his parents or was he striving to make his parents proud?
“Well, yeah, I do want to make my parents proud, but it’s mostly for me,” Eddie said. His intrinsic motivation is commendable and almost unheard of.
He is very intentional with his interactions with everyone. He does his best to “not get on anyone’s nerves” and put a smile on their face.
“I just want to be a good person,” Eddie added.
At home, Eddie enjoys spending time with his dog Marley, watching anime and playing games. His go-to foods are chicken, black beans, and pizza.
Eddie has not decided what he wants to do when he grows up, but being an athlete at Pete Knight High School is high on his list.
This kid is truly an asset to us at Desert Willow and I am pretty sure that he is going to change the world.
