Welcome to Los Amigos Dual Immersion!
I'm Dr. Yesenia Diaz, and I feel deeply honored to have the opportunity to lead as the principal of Los Amigos Dual Immersion School. In these challenging times, it's especially important to me to emphasize the strength of the connections between home and school. Every member of the Los Amigos staff is committed to supporting our students as they navigate their bilingual learning journey. I am genuinely excited about the prospect of guiding Los Amigos and its students toward success.
As part of the PSD Dual Immersion School, our students are fully immersed in two languages to foster bilingualism, biliteracy, high academic achievement, and socio-cultural competence. The guiding principles of dual immersion programs are at the heart of our educational approach.
One of the most meaningful aspects of my role as Principal is building genuine relationships with students, families, teachers, and our broader school community. I am committed to being present and available, whether interacting with students and parents on campus, meeting with parents at events, or visiting classrooms to engage with your children. Students thrive when they feel appreciated, heard, and treated with fairness and consistency. It's important that you and your child feel safe and respected within our school. Further, there are countless achievements to celebrate at Los Amigos, and I am eager to share these events with you. Our collective efforts, including your active participation in our school events and meetings, strengthen our school community.
