5th Grade

We are looking forward to working with you and are thrilled to embark on this learning journey with your child here at Palmdale Learning Plaza. As an IB School, our approach to education is student-centered, providing the children with opportunities to be agents of their own learning. Our goal for each student is to continue to have individuals live the IB Learner Profiles and Attitudes as each continues down the road to middle school.

We strive to make them more culturally aware through the development of a second language in each grade level (currently learning American Sign Language in 5th Grade) and to encourage being internationally minded in a globally-connected world. The Exhibition Project is a culminating event that underscores these tenets. It gives students the opportunity to share their understanding of real-life issues or topics that they are interested in or have personal connections with. It provides reflection into their learning while developing skills of presentation and assessment.
