School Principal

I am truly honored to serve as principal of Joshua Hills Elementary this school year! This is my thirteenth year with the Palmdale School District, my fifth year as an administrator. It is a privilege to be your principal this school year!

I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies and a Master’s Degree in Educational Administrative Leadership from California State University, Northridge. I also hold a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and have obtained a Clear Administrative Service Credential. Previous to being a principal for our school district, I served as an assistant principal at Los Amigos Dual Immersion and David G. Millen for four years. Before becoming an administrator, I taught 4th and 6th grades for about seven years, first at Tamarisk Elementary and then Tumbleweed Elementary. During my time as a classroom teacher, I also held leadership roles as an EL Leader, administrative intern, mentor teacher, and served on the School Leadership Team. Before leaving the classroom in 2017, I was recognized as Teacher of the Year for my school site.

I feel very fortunate to be part of our Joshua Hills family. I strive to continue to work hard alongside all of our outstanding students, parents, and the rest of our school community to continue to guide students to achieve the Palmdale Promise.

Sincerely,
Ms. Garcia
