Marginese Streeter » Principal

Principal

Hello Buena Vista Students, Families & Staff,

My name is Marginese Streeter. I have been a school administrator in the Palmdale School District since August 2014. I am very excited to be the new Principal at Buena Vista School.

Since my childhood, my father has always instilled the importance of an education, and that is why I have always had a true passion for learning. When I was a child, I opened my own school in the garage at my parents' house and started teaching my four younger siblings and my peers in the neighborhood. As a result, when I graduated from high school, I decided that I wanted to become a teacher.

So I started working towards my Associate of Arts Degree at Antelope Valley College. Once I received my Associates Degree I continued with my Bachelor of Arts Degree from the California State University of Long Beach, where I received a B.A. in Liberal Studies. Then I started teaching for the Los Angeles Unified School District. I taught grades K-5 for 15 years. During this time, I continued my education and pursued my Master's Degree in Social Foundations of Education at California State University of Los Angeles. I also attended National University and received my Administrative Credential.

I have been in the field of education for over 25 years. As an educator, it is my number one priority to provide our students with a safe learning environment, where they can learn to their fullest potential, while keeping their feet firmly planted on the ground. This is an exciting time for me as I embark on my new role as Principal here at Buena Vista School.

It is at this time that I would like to encourage all involved stakeholders to continue building relationships to lay the foundation for student success as we prepare our students to become global citizens, who are career and college ready. I look forward to having a great school year as Buena Vista’s School Principal!

Sincerely,

Marginese Streeter, M.Ed.
