Greetings! I am Roy C. Thomas, the Assistant Principal at Cactus Magnet Academy. I am an alumnus of Grambling State University, an HBCU, where I earned a degree in Elementary Education. My background also includes five years of service in the U.S. Army, where I served as a commissioned officer and intelligence analyst.
In 2017, I was honored with the STEAM TEACHER OF THE YEAR award for Magnolia Public Schools in Carson, CA. Additionally, I have received two NAACP awards and a Congressional Award from Assemblyman Mike Gipson in Carson, CA.
I hold a master’s degree and administrative credential from Concordia University in Irvine, CA. Following my studies, I served as a Dean for three years and then as an Assistant Principal in Carson before moving to the Antelope Valley. Here, I am proud to continue my role as an Assistant Principal at Cactus Magnet Academy.
My passion lies in serving the community through writing, mentoring, and music. The leadership skills I have developed through my military service and educational career are assets I bring to our school. I am committed to fostering an inclusive and beneficial environment for all in the Antelope Valley.
