School Principal

Hello Golden Poppy Families,

My name is Sandra Salas-Rodriguez.  I am the Principal of the most fantastic school in the Palmdale School District.

Golden Poppy welcomed me in 2018 as their Principal. I became an Assistant Principal for the first time in 2016.  I have served as a Special Education teacher working with moderate/severe students and general education students. I was also a Learning Support teacher here at Golden Poppy for three years.  I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Master’s Degree in Education.  We implement Capturing Kids Hearts to capture the hearts of our students so that we can capture their minds.  We greet our students daily to welcome them to a new day on campus.  We work together as a leadership team and staff to implement best practices, strategies, and support to help our students achieve academic success.  The goal is to create an environment where our students can learn, collaborate, and build a foundation of skills and social-emotional skills and abilities they can take to higher grade levels and beyond.
