School Principal

Welcome to Los Amigos Dual Immersion!

 

I am delighted to be part of the Los Amigos Dual Immersion family and serve as your principal. 

 

I am very honored, humble, and proud to be part of a dedicated, talented staff who do what is in the best interest of our students. This school year, through biliterate instruction, students achieve academic success, develop a positive self-image, and attain cross-cultural understanding. In addition, our staff and I are committed to providing your child with a high academic dual immersion program and nurturing environment. For these reasons, this school year's theme is "Luces, Cámara, Acción: We are DRAGONS!" Our theme highlights our students' success while providing action steps to innovate our students' thinking.

 

I want to take the time to share some of my professional background in education. For the past twenty-one years, I have worked as a leader, teacher, and instructional assistant in public education. This is my second year in Los Amigos Dual Immersion, and I look forward to continuing to use these collective experiences and working with you as a partner in your child's education and success.

 

In addition to my professional achievements, I was born in Guatemala and immigrated to the United States with my family at a young age. Coming from another country has taught me the value of my culture and to appreciate and understand other cultures. I recently received my Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership and Policies from the California State University of Northridge. I also hold a Master of Science in Administration from Pepperdine University.

 

I firmly value and believe in the Palmdale PROMISE, where we need to prepare students for 21st-century learning while providing equity to all students and building on students' strengths and culture. In addition, the most important aspect of my work as Principal of Los Amigos is continuing to build meaningful relationships with students, families, teachers, and the community. 

 

This school year will be an amazing one as we continue providing academic experiences for our students that are rigorous, relevant and help them build relationships while making real-world connections. 

 

At Los Amigos Dual Immersion, we have many things to be proud of, and I look forward to working with you as a team. I am also excited for a great school year filled with many celebrations.
